Many freshwater species and their habitats are in serious danger of simply disappearing and innovative conservation strategies are urgently required to unify efforts, ensure threats are mitigated and at the same time, natural resources and the well-being of local communities are protected.
SARDPAN is a conservation initiative meant to be as much a network of river dolphin protected areas, as a network of researchers, government departments and NGOs who contribute to river dolphin conservation and their habitats in South America.
Our goal is to set up a dynamic directory to unify all the information related to river dolphins and freshwater areas as a starting point to identify gaps, and work together in planning further proposals for regional conservation initiatives.
SARDPAN is intended to gather as much information as possible, to include as many different perspectives as possible and to start networking with all people interested in conservation of aquatic systems.
Feel free to join SARDPAN to share your research, ideas and thoughts.
LET THE NETWORKING BEGIN!!!
